The optical quartz glass in optical components can be divided into three grades: JGS1, JGS2, and JGS3 according to the spectrum application range:

JGS1 Far Ultraviolet Optical Quartz Glass 185nm-2500 nm

JGS2 UV optical quartz glass 220nm-2500 nm

JGS3 infrared optical quartz glass 260nm- 3500 nm

Note: Visible light quartz glass can be arbitrarily selected among the above three grades.

2. Optical quartz glass is classified and graded according to the following quality indicators.

(1) Spectral characteristics: divided into three categories;

(2) Optical uniformity: divided into five categories.

(3) Birefringence: divided into five categories;

(4) Stripes: divided into three categories and three levels;

(5) Particle inhomogeneity: divided into three categories;

(6) Bubbles: divided into seven categories;

(7) Fluorescence characteristics: divided into two categories.

3. Spectral characteristics

1) JGS1 far ultraviolet optical quartz glass is divided into three categories according to its spectral characteristics (see Table 2).

Table 2

Transmittance of 10mm thick blank (%)

Category 185 200 220 240 300 185- 1200

1 >85 >85 >85 >87 >90 no absorption peak

2 >70 >80 >80 >80 >85 no absorption peak

3 >70 >70 >70 >80 Absorption peak allowed

(2) JGS2 ultraviolet optical quartz glass is divided into three categories according to its spectral characteristics (see Table 3).

Table 3

Transmittance of 10mm thick blank (%)

Category 200 240 300

1 >80 >75 >80

2 >75 >70 >75

3 >65 >70

(3) JGS3 infrared optical quartz glass is divided into three categories according to its spectral characteristics (see Table 4).

Table 4

Transmittance of 10mm thick blank (%)

Category 2000 2500 2700 2800 2600- 2800

1 >90 >90 >90 >85 no absorption peak

2 >85 >85 >85 >80 no absorption peak

3 >80 >80 >75 >75 Absorption peak allowed

(4) The average transmittance of visible light of JGS1, JGS2, JGS3 10mm thick blanks should be greater than 90%.

4. The optical uniformity is divided into five categories according to the ratio of the minimum discrimination angle (φ) to the theoretical discrimination angle (φ0). See the table. The theoretical discrimination angle φ0 is equal to 120'/D (round hole) or 115'/D (long square hole). D is the aperture size of the collimator tube, and is related to the diameter of the blank (round blank) or side length (for rectangular blanks). To calculate the sides of φ0) are equal.
